Purpose of the function :
The task of IKEA Components within IKEA is to pursue the development of future unique and customer-friendly solutions within fittings and components to the IKEA range. We create substantial cost and quality benefits for IKEA in our development and trade of raw materials, components and fittings. IKEA Components is part of the IKEA group and shares the IKEA vision and values. Our business is global and employs 1300 people based in Sweden, Slovakia and China. Through co-operation with IKEA Purchasing Offices, we are also represented at several other sites around the world.
Purpose of the role :
As a Production Engineer, you will secure and support the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. Furthermore, you will be the main contact towards the suppliers for Engineering and Quality topics. As part of the business team, you will work with suppliers to: develop and secure the production process, handle quality deviations and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.

Job description
- Secure Quality Assurance including supporting for implementing process control for key processes in production
- Perform product audits and production risk assessments at supplier
- Lead the running range at the suppliers and sub-suppliers to secure full compliance of IKEA requirements
- Lead the supplier development for quality and manufacturing with responsibility to identify and implement actions and execution of Supplier Development Process projects
- Lead product deviation processes, securing root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions
- Secure implementation of new and update requirements
- Secure final inspection and regular follow up and feedback to the suppliers regarding quality performance

As a production engineer we believe that you have good knowledge of production processes and technologies. Furthermore you have knowledge within democratic design and customer needs. Preferable you have experience from steel components and materials.
Qualification
- You have experience of at least 5 years in production environment.
- You have technical/engineering background.
- You have a good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methods and tools.
- You are familiar with Quality Systems and Total Quality Management.
- You have the energy to improve things (proven record of implementing process / product improvements)
- Very good computer software skills (MS Office applications)

- You have ability to solve problems, take decisions and navigate through complex technical issues with a holistic view
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
