The Role

Where you fit

Shell partners with an external Global Facility Management company (FMC) on the execution of the end-to-end maintenance operations in retail sites. The Mobility Facility Maintenance Engineer will drive the maintenance of designated region to ensure best customer experience at our fuel stations. FM analyst also manages the relationship with the respective FMC organization regional teams, stakeholders and drives them such that the budget is managed effectively, ensure the customer gets a world class experiences at Shell retail sites and contributes to the bottom line of the business unit.

Essential to this role is developing and managing key stakeholder relationships with Sales & Ops (S&O), Marketing, Network, Project management Company (PMC), IT and other external third-party entities such as Project Management Company (PMC) and pro-actively communicate with them in order to maintain the Retail sites through the Facilities Maintenance Companies in an integrated way.

What’s the role?

As Field Maintenance Engineer, your main role is to coordinate and deploy the jointly developed maintenance plan and ensure that all pre-requisites are met by pro-actively driving the maintenance performance through the Facility Management Company (FMC) to agreed outcomes while meeting HSSE and Retail business objectives.

Job location- Pune, Mumbai, Chennai

Further roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive HSSE mindset and compliance to Shell prescribed processes within the Facilities Management Companies organization and through them to contractors.
  • Drive and manage the strategic relationship with Facilities Management Companies at Regional Level. Guide and direct FMC team in the Market to set a clear direction and priorities on maintenance.
  • Review and approve the maintenance programs developed by the FMC for the Market including the asset management plan, planned maintenance, equipment replacement proposals and procurement strategies.
  • Manage FMC opex Cost optimization targets, uptime of Fueling, EV and other Safety/ Business Critical assets at all Shell locations, not limiting to Forecourt only and asset Life Cycle, Multi Year Plans, Compliance and Assurances.
  • Attend the weekly Operational Reviews with the FMC to identify and solve daily operational issues and to identify (systemic) issues to discuss in monthly Performance Reviews.
  • To be the focal for various escalations and program manage the FM function in the region, conduct regular permit audits, invoice audits, and discuss action plans to mitigate key operational issues.
  • Escalate unresolved and systemic issues to Shell Design Standards Manager and own the special projects that are expected to come on adhoc basis from various functions.
  • Provide critical insights to Design Standards Manager for developing and deploying various maintenance strategies, resolve the issues that are faced by FMC while dealing with capex and opex works to ensure program delivery is consistently met.
  • Drive various annual activities with partner like TnR, MYP, CMCP, GCF and RBSAM Assurances, LCSC and Partners meetings etc.
  • Drive for quick resolution of issues via FMC and build appropriate urgency.

What we need from you

  • Preferably graduate of Bachelor’s in Electrical, Instruments and Electronics Engineering.
  • With good understanding of the retail business with regards to retailers/dealers and customers interfaces, PESO and other statutory rules for India.
  • With above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • With solid experience in Fuel System Equipment, Maintenance, Project Delivery, HSSE in Engineering, Contracting & Procurement, Local Codes and practices, Budget and Contract Management and Engineering innovation/solutions.
  • Exposure to EV projects or maintenance would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to be assigned either in Chennai, Mumbai or Pune and travel occasionally.
