Project Engineer

You will be working as Project Engineer and will be part of Electrification business for Distribution Solutions division based in Nashik, India. In this role you will be reporting to Senior Project Engineer and will be responsible for design authority for Medium Voltage Switchgear Electrical Engineering discipline with medium – high complexity projects working with ABB Air &/or Gas Insulated Switchgear (AIS and GIS), Ring Main Units (RMU) or equivalent Switcgear portfolio or Skid Based solutions / Compact Secondary Substations (CSS). Completing assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Acting as a technical / project engineer, approves design deliverables. Reviewing all project documents for conformity, safety and quality assurance. Anticipating and solves crucial issues and/or unique conditions
- Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. Finalizing ‘Fail-Safe Philosophy’, ‘secure-by-design principles and other key concepts as part of Kick-Off and Design Freeze Meetings
- Applying Design Thinking / Design for Excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, proto-typing, simulation and calculations. Performing Project Peer-Reviews
- Developing, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures and tools. Ensuring that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements
- Assessing and addressing technical risks and opportunities. Reporting any contract / safety / cyber-security / quality / program / cost issues to Project Manager(s) along with recommendations, for resolution
- Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects in consultation with respective Project Managers and ensures quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost
Your background
- Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Min 2 to 7 Years of experience in design of MV switchgear system
- Strong experience in EPLAN Electric P8 & Propanel
- Familiar with international standards like IEC
- MV Switchgear – AIS, GIS systems design engineering
- Experience in SAP for Project Execution
