Job Description Summary
As part of the Construction & Commissioning Quality Team –The C&C Generator COE Specialist will be responsible for providing technical and operational expertise to the generator scope related to the quality matters.In this role, you will manage the process improvements from the related COE to ensure on time delivery with right quality, and identify opportunities for improvement, by analyzing the different quality issues, and by engaging with the main stakeholders to implement improvements to the GE Generator parts and processes, with the aim to improve the overall quality, identify risks and opportunities, to ultimately reduce the defect rate and COQ.
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and proce
dures.

Roles and Responsibilities
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within discipline
Recommend changes to procedures to lead process improvements
Coordinate with the site, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing on the related issues.
Identify and conduct product/process audits where required.
Develop a clear strategy and deployment roadmap to drive delivery of better quality across the full end to end value chain from customer to warranty execution at the COE under your scope.
Drive process improvement projects and initiatives, including methods, tools, roadmap systems, and deployment.
Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives.
Provide leadership for organization of quality and technical activities, problem identification and resolution.
Has a supportive role in decision making about important subjects.
Impacts projects, processes, and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.
Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Provide RCA support using performance improvement tools (i.e. process maps, Ishikawa diagrams, 5W2H)and methodology, in addition to project management support.
Assist in driving cross-team initiatives
Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track and communicate status of RCA
Develop standards for risk identification and management within C&C and develop methodology for handling non-standard risk
Drive down CoQ proactively by elimination of risks
Develop component disposition landscape to minimize cost for components that require repair, replacement, reinforcement T
Take active role in designing assembly for C&C including managements of risks from DFMEA, Supply Chain FMEA’s, C&C Assembly FMEA’s.
Managing wing-to-wing quality standards, governance and drives project/process improvements to ensure Zero Defects, Right First Time and customer quality for the COE. Assess Gates/Milestones, APQP activities, and process development-and implement changes to improve the process as required Contribute to tender phase, especially in product design and industrialization to take into account industrial constraints and requirements in order to optimize costs and minimize risk Managing customer quality relationship and priority issues.
Lead risk and failure analysis (FMEA) to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met during design/process validation.
Act as an expert during supplier process audits and follow open items to closure, where required
Hands on" approach with cross functional teams / manufacturing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or other equivalent engineering.
Demonstrate a substantial track record of working in a Quality Leadership role in a regulated industrial sector
Strong understanding of aerospace, automotive or similar industry quality standards
Experience of using key quality tools including PFMEA, SPC 8D, 6 Sigma
Have working knowledge of a range of quality tools and lean methodologies with an agile ability to recognize best fit in new environments
Have a continuous improvement and preventative mindset, knowing how to influence stakeholders towards change
Demonstrate experience of bringing positive change and transformation to a global business
Be eager to make an impact, evolve the business and have the confidence to try new approaches
Be self-motivated with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
