What role you will play in our team
ExxonMobil is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to provide Subsea Engineering technical support and expertise to its oil and gas development projects and production operations. The candidate would be part of ExxonMobil’s Subsea team in ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company, working out of ExxonMobil’s Bangalore Campus (Prestige Shantiniketan Whitefield) in India. The candidate would be responsible for providing corporate-wide technical and advisory support in the areas of subsea hardware engineering and operations. Responsibilities will include developing and applying design and operating criteria for ExxonMobil’s diverse, global portfolio of assets, new developments, and industry-led initiatives.
What you will do
Develop, specify, and apply subsea hardware design criteria for wide variety of activities, developments, and operations, i.e. large-scale deepwater capital projects, R&D programs, offshore installation activities, and low carbon solutions opportunities
Provide management with sound recommendations and context for subsea hardware design philosophies and strategic contracting decisions
Involvement in various subsea project support efforts from concept evaluation and selection to commissioning and start up
Interface with contractors and sub-contractors and ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements including review of discipline design drawings and documents
Develop and carry out procedures for FAT, EFAT, SIT, and pre-loadout of subsea hardware
Participate in risk assessments, root cause failure analyses, technology evaluations/selections, and offshore installation of subsea hardware Interface with people from different disciplines (e.g. marine, risers, pipelines, flow assurance) to align on work scopes and work products.
Work with Other Subsea Disciplines such as Subsea Controls, Subsea Operations to align on work scopes and work products
Support subsea operations through troubleshooting findings, surveillance programs, integrity management, and technical reviews & recommendations.
Monitor and provide engineering oversight of third-party engineering contractors and service providers to various Business Units
Sustain and promote ExxonMobil’s safety culture
About You
Skills and Qualification
B.Tech. or M.Tech. degree in Subsea, Offshore, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines
3 to 13 years of experience in subsea engineering design or operations with expertise in one of the following - subsea systems/ subsea operations/ subsea hardware/ subsea controls/ subsea processing Working knowledge of Subsea Production System Hardware (Wellhead, Tree, Manifold, Jumpers, Connectors)
Working Knowledge of Offshore Installation Activities
Working knowledge of applying subsea engineering codes & standards, such as API 17D/6A/17H, ASME 31.3/31.8 and other relevant API, IOGP, and ASME subsea hardware and piping standards
Familiar with typical equipment and component election drivers & tradeoffs, failure modes and demonstrated ability to diagnose the problem
Awareness of subsea system architecture, and fundamental subsea hardware functionality
Familiar with operation of typical subsea system including general layout, process flow and chemical distribution
Familiar with the different types of subsea control systems (SCM, SDU, UTA, Flying leads), topside systems (MCS, EPU and HPU) and interfaces
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as per business needs (<10%)
Strong listening, verbal & written communication skills in English
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to mentor others and work with globally diverse business teams
Flexible to work in shifts 1.30 PM – 10.30 PM IST
