Quality Engineer for Paper Business Line (based in Pune, India)

We are looking for “Quality Engineer” to be based in Pune, India. This position reports to “Quality Manager, PAP Stock Preparation Pune Operations”. In this position you will have an opportunity to secure quality and delivery at supplier works, and status of ordered goods by conducting supplier workshop inspections, quality assurance and control, training and auditing suppliers.
In this position, you will be required to,
Create Quality Assurance and Control plan for each product/ section with internal and external stakeholders
Execute regular inspections at supplier manufacturing location(s) according to established processes and checklists, especially for sheet metal and steel fabrication and machining
Detailed planning of quality inspections according to established delivery quality inspection plan
Create and store inspection reports according to established processes
Engage with stakeholders for regular progress reporting
Monitor and supervise the production process and project delivery, till marking and packing
Create non-conformity reports when issues are discovered and ensure that corrections are made for established Non-conformity reports. Perform RCCA.
Provide supplier development feedback after inspections
Create audits to review supplier quality process situation and action plans thereafter
Provide input for supplier performance management after inspections
Focus on “On time delivery” and physically expedite order deliverables at supplier works
Search and induct new suppliers as per capacity requirements
To succeed this role, you will need:
Bachelor/ master’s Degree in mechanical engineering
3-6 years of experience in relevant field
Understanding and knowledge of Quality management systems
In depth knowledge of steel grades, welding processes, filler materials, shielding gases, heat inputs and pre-heating with deep knowledge of different kind of welding defects and acceptance criteria
Experience in working on fabrication, machining processes, casting, etc. processes and components
Knowledge of finishing and pickling methods including painting process principles and different inspection methods.
Knowledge of EN, ISO, ASME standards.
Thorough knowhow on geometrical tolerances and knowledge measurement methodology
Knowledge of surface roughness, non-destructive tests, etc.
Deep knowledge and interest in reading and understanding drawings
Proactive mindset
Go along with company HSE procedures and practices
Good communication skills
English language, written and spoken, is mandatory
Willingness for travelling.
