JOHNSON CONTROL JOBS FOR ELECTRICAL And Mechanical engineers
Full Job Description
Job Details
p OpenBlue Central Utility Plant is an innovative software product which helps central energy facility managers and operators minimize operational costs, reduce energy consumption, reduce water consumption, and shrink carbon foot prints. The Project Engineer will develop detailed models that drive the optimization algorithms, assist with the commissioning and user training, and perform savings measurement and verification (M&V) analysis. How you will do it Conduct site visits of central plants to analyze current plant configuration, operation, and performance Gather, cleanse, and process data from various sources and utilize data analysis tools and techniques to organize the data for use in CPO analysis Use energy modeling/simulation tools to estimate potential savings from implementing CPO and other energy conservation measures Use problem solving skills to validate simulation results and troubleshoot simulations Following integration to plant automation systems, lead the process of commissioning to ensure CPO algorithms are dispatching plant in an optimal fashion aligned with simulation models Troubleshoot through plant automation systems to identify issues during commissioning. Train and support plant managers’ and operators’ understanding of CPO software Perform savings measurement and verification (M&V) analysis after CPO has been operational. What we look for Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC design engineering and/or developing building energy savings projects Experience with design and operation of central plants (chilled water, hot water, steam, etc.) Understanding of building cooling and heating loads, energy calculation methods, and energy performance of building mechanical/electrical systems Understanding of HVAC equipment (e.g., hydronic systems, steam/condensate systems, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) General understanding of HVAC controls and sequences of operation for central utility plants Understanding of basic business case analysis and lifecycle cost analysis methods Knowledge of common global utility rate structures Strong written and verbal communication skills “Nice to Have” Professional Engineer (PE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or other relevant certifications Consulting engineering experience Experience with principles and practices of building energy simulation modeling Experience with inverse modeling and regression techniques Experience with energy savings measurement and verification (e.g. IPMVP standards) Knowledge of co-generation or combined heat and power (CHP) plants Understanding of mathematical optimization and/or linear programming methods
