- Barclays recently announced the creation of a new world-class campus at Gera Commerzone located in Kharadi. All Pune based roles will eventually start to move to this new campus starting September 2019. In the run up to that, during the course of 2018, there may be transitory movements of some roles to other temporary sites. Overall purpose of role at Barclays
- To maintain an in-depth, end-to-end technical understanding of one or more applications / products, being recognised as the ‘go to’ contact for technical queries, live incidents and problems.
- To use system-specific knowledge and technical expertise to define technical strategies that provides business solutions.
- Collaborating with Architects, PMs and developers as well as support and Infrastructure teams during and for the Design and development of the software components within the project scope, ensuring quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness in order to support the high performance delivery of change projects within RDC.
- Support to Design Phases through performing requirement analysis and design.
- Provision of strong build expertise to both project development and BAU enhancement.
- Proficient in either OOPS, Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring or Angular
Key Accountabilities at Barclay's
- Technical Development & Consultancy – Application Development (Design, Build, Unit Test) (75%)
- Participate in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations will be maintained.
- Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Undertake impact assessment of problem records against applications / products within domain.
- Collaborate with other software engineers across teams to build technical solution.
- Deliver to all software engineering quality standards / benchmarks.
- Complete assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. Document all work in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind
- Provision of strong build expertise to both project development and BAU enhancement
- Support to defect resolution activities during testing phases
- Solve software-related problems, providing analysis and recommendations as appropriate.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications required for Barclays
- Object Oriented Programming, Java, Java Scripts, Angular/React JS Concepts.
- Problem solving skills.
- Degree in engineering discipline from premier institute.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Aws / Cloud & DevOps Concepts
- Spring framework or Python or any latest programing language.
- Business communication skills and strong presentation abilities.
- Good interpersonal and team skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
