This is an Technical Supply Engineer role reporting to operations Manager in Process Automation Business Area, based out of Vadodara; India. You will be primarily responsible for Managing operational supplier quality, on or off-site, ensuring the supplier qualification and development processes are executed in full. Driving both corrective and preventive actions with the suppliers, based on maturity and performance. Managing the supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
ABB JOBS responsibilities
- Managing operational supplier quality, including validating the supplier's quality systems and the quality of the supplier's processes.
- Driving approval of supplier parts, materials and project subcontractor service activities, as applicable; this might include close coordination with other functions/experts and where applicable includes PPAP (Production Part Approval Process and product) surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
- Leading the quick reaction of supply issues related to quality issues, deliveries, non-conforming products or project services and work together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.
- Leading improvement projects in collaboration with on-site supplier team.
- Ensuring the supplier qualification process is executed in full and ensures the relevant suppliers are and remain fully qualified and compliant.
- Working with Procurement management as needed to continually improve such processes, including necessary training materials.
- Ensuring suppliers remain in compliance with the ABB Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Leading the execution of supplier assessments, driving both corrective and preventive actions as applicable, based on supplier maturity and performance.
- Supporting local operations and service in handling supplier non-performance mitigation actions.
- Using Supplier Quality Management tools and systems for collaboration, reporting, monitoring and disposition of quality, delivery, cost and compliance metrics.

ABB Jobs skill and qualifications required
- A bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
- Required 5 to 8 years of experience.
- Required knowledge in Casting / Machining / fabrication / hardware process.
- Knowledge of MM (Material Master Module), DMS module of SAP to resolve issues of material master for the complete organization.
- Must have knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software’s namely AutoCAD, Solid works Catia will be an added advantage.
- Should have hands on experience of operating Auto Cad/Solid Works/CATIA etc.
