Role Summary/Purpose

The Facilities & equipment Maintenance Manager performs, plans, directs, co-ordinates and controls all maintenance related works at site to ensure trouble free operation without any interruption. Responsible for the maintenance of machines, equipment, building (external/internal) etc. and execution of improvement projects as and when required.

Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Lead IFM team of 50+ people and Wabtec junior engineers and maintenance contractor Team handling.
  • Monthly IFM team SLA review, scoring and verifying the invoice based on SLA Scores.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly reviews with IFM team for maintenance operations, spares and consumables consumptions, safety, budget, and compliances
  • Lead all aspects of the team in the maintenance & repairs to meet internal customer requirements within the working timetable.
  • To ensure start/ end of shift Briefing (SOSB/ EOSB)
  • To be responsible for the deployment of team members in line with the shift throughput requirements.
  • Leading and prioritizing workforce deployment dynamically with changing ask

EHS

  • Responsible for leading team members to uphold site safety, including reporting of any unsafe acts, process/procedure deviation
  • Plan and organize team to timely close unsafe acts and conditions reported and assigned to maintenance team
  • Ensure maintenance safety management systems runs effectively through periodic reviews and monitoring
  • Propose or take suitable actions for safety non compliances and enhance safety levels of team by regular trainings
  • Ensure Permit to Work, TBT, JSA for all non-routine activities and Annual Maintenance operations JSA review

Performance

  • Achievement against the pre-defined KPI targets on Safety, Delivery, Budget, improvement activity etc
  • Ensure timely publishing of daily, weekly, monthly report with all transparency & accuracy
  • Spares stock monitoring to ensure availability of spares on time without effecting
  • Cost reduction measures & achievement
  • Develop RFQ for services/ supply contracts and execution of contract till closure.
  • Ensure that the team follow the standard processes and conform to those standards on the job.
  • Scheduling and Planning maintenance budget and thereafter execution and monitoring of maintenance expenses and work on gap mitigations, if any.
  • Working together with other teams i.e Operations, Administration, Security, EHS etc. to meet departmental objectives. Alarm system)
  • Ensuring 5S is deployed and maintained
  • Cost reduction target achievement.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of continuous improvement, team development and best practice.
  • Liaison with Govt authorities i.e Power Board, Indian Railways as required

Team Development

  • Conduct regular informal discussions with team members.
  • Provide regular feedback on team / individual performance.
  • Be proactive in seeking views and input from team members.
  • Ensure all team members have skills including Special Process training needed to perform and deliver against the work plan.
  • Conduct regular review of skills matrix for team members.
  • Identify individual training needs and organize programs
  • Encourage kaizen schemes and 5S
  • Own HPT (High performance team) of maintenance and provide coaching and mentoring team to help deliver their objectives as safety, delivery, engagement and quality star caps
  • Closing of HPT challenges identified by team and work on improvement areas of HPT in maintenance functions
  • Provide coaching to Plant maintenance star caps to perform their role in their stations/Teams across shop floor

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS 

Educational Background

  • BE or B TECH Regular course in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Technical Competencies & Experience

  • 10-12 years of experience of working in mainline maintenance of a manufacturing set-up preferably of assembly & testing .
  • Experience of handling MHE (Cranes, Forklifts), Paint shop operations, HMI/PLC based testing setup, Liaison experience with state Electricity Department
  • Experience of handling Industrial Utility installation i.e STP/ ETP, HSD/ Lube Oil storage & pumping, Electrical Power Distribution, Water treatment Facilities, Fire system etc.
  • Plan & Execute Capex for maintenance functions as per plan.
  • Spares Planning, procurement & management
  • Knowledge of equipment and utilities related Rules and Regulations
  • MAXIMO CMMS / Oracle P&E
