Group Trucks Operations
Position Description
The department of Quality & Engineering, Bangalore is part of global function Group Trucks Operations (GTO) that develops product and process solutions, leading to operational excellence. Q&E Bangalore department consists of Technical Preparation Engineers (TPEs), Software Process Controllers (SWPC), Virtual Manufacturing Engineers (VME) and Diagnostic Engineering & Test Developers (DETD).
We are delivering manufacturing engineering solutions to product projects for different truck product classes within Volvo group. It’s a place where we continuously learn vehicle and manufacturing technologies.
Do you want to be a part of the transition to sustainable products? Do you have strong experience of ‘Virtual Manufacturing Simulation and Engineering’ during Product Development or Production phases?
In today’s automotive industries, the amount of virtual simulations, analysis and verifications are increasing during vehicle design and production phases. And it’s a challenge to secure an excellent pro-active quality at the production line by virtually visualizing the production processes and also to identify opportunities to optimize production processes.
We are now looking for a Virtual Manufacturing Engineer (VME) who will develop manufacturing process plans based on plant assembly graphs & resources, perform Assembly Digital Mock Up (ADMU) simulations and support Virtual Build Process reviews to help Manufacturing Engineering community. You will be located at Bangalore office and will be performing VME activities for different truck product classes.
You will be responsible for the creation of process plans for different plants using PPR (product, process and resources) approach, you will work closely with colleagues from production plants and manufacturing engineering. With the virtual simulations, analysis and verifications you will recommend the optimized and efficient processes, tools and methods to the manufacturing community. That means you are an important person to increase efficiency in manufacturing processes during the trucks production.
