R&D Engineer

This is a R&D Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Team Lead in Business Area - Electrification based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and/or solutions by contributing with own ideas.
Your responsibilities
- Gas Insulated Switchgear Design and Development, Prototyping, type testing
- Mechanical design. Concept and full CAD 3D models. Detailed design and complete detailed 2D drawings
- Designing of sheet metal parts, casted and machined metal parts, molded plastic parts
- Metal forming and manufacturing Process knowledge and optimization
- Design reviews in close communication with other R&D project managers and technical experts
Your background
- Engineering degree in Mechanical engineering with basic understanding of electrical engineering
- or Engineering degree in Electrical engineering with strong understanding of mechanical engineering
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in design and development of GIS/AIS
- Excellent competence with CAD (Pro-E, Solid works etc.,). Reading of technical drawings and experience in PLM system is required. SolidWorks/Smarteam/Windchill is preferred
- Excellent English language skills-written and spoken
