We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will be working on the Product Maintenance process handling field quality issues and provide support to the OtD process in order to improve customer satisfaction.
You will be part of the Product Maintenance Team within the Volvo CE - Technology department and have responsibility for leading field failure resolution, lead cost reduction and customer adaptation initiatives and work extensively in a cross functional environment for implementing design changes in production.

Main Tasks
- Support design work with competence and application knowledge to address field failures and provide design engineering support to the production team
- Support and drive cross-functional work
- Identify and lead implementation of cost reduction opportunities
- Develop and implement proactive actions based on the feedback from the field failure rate for RM products
- Support to review the technical specification for localisation of parts and alternate supplier selection
- Design the customized features to products as per customer requirement
- Lead / drive cost reduction opportunities / Class 0 projects
- Integrate deliveries from team members/consultants and secure Quality and readiness before release.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8 to 10 yrs of experience in Product development of structures, sheet metal and plastic component design in construction equipment industry
- Excellent application & competitor Knowledge in the construction equipment industry
- Compaction and Paving Product and Architecture knowledge
- Good understanding of product risk management
- Experience in working with tools and methods for design and quality (FEA, DMAIC, RCA, tolerance stackup, etc..)
- Good Business acumen and basic financial understanding (understanding of DNP, SCOS, GM, etc..)
- Good CAD Skills
- Good knowledge of PLM soft wares
- Good communication skill (written and verbal) in English.
