Title: Senior Engineer


Duties

  • Supervises and leads the development and execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Investigates, analyzes and resolves various system, part, people or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance.
  • Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. Monitors individual and line performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed and responds to complaints to insure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules.
  • Works with Safety Team in meeting company standards and enforces safety regulations to prevent and eliminate injuries.
  • Plans for maintenance of equipment and facilities to maximize the uptime and utilization of capital equipment assets.
  • Manages and controls costs to stay within the department operating budget targets.
  • Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance. Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job.
  • Directs departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.

Desired

  • Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.
  • Manufacturing and/or operations experience.
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement. (1 - 3 years)
  • Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience. (1 - 3 years)
  • Experience in use of statistical tools and techniques for quality management. (Less than 1 year)
  • Experience with Production Control systems, preferably within John Deere. (Less than 1 year)

  • This position will support the increased volume ramp up & New projects
  • This position will support capacity ramp up in Assembly shop to meet unit business needs of production volume ramp up.
  • Ensure Quick resolution of Quality issues to avoid Production line losses
  • This position will take care for all the metrics of Assembly Shop, will keep focus & monitoring on operations. This position will monitor & develop metrics like Safety, Quality, Delivery, Efficiency, Cost

Education

  • Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.
  • Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. (University Degree (4 years or equivalent))
  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
