Job Description Summary

Responsible for the overall General arrangement drawings for equipment layout, Civil work layout, piping layout/Cable Tray Layout
To perform the allotted work in definite schedules and budgeted manhours.
Active participation in basic design and detail design activities.
Standardization and methodology aspects layout activity, E3D Auto cad and preparation of BOM activity.
Functional reporting to your Layout COE leader and operationally to the System Integrator

- EHS: - Implementation EHS policy & procedures of GE for design aspect.

Responsibilities:

Below activities shall be performed within stipulated time frame for basic & detail layout engineering.

To work on E3D & Auto Cad software for various type of hydro power plant civil modelling and equipment modelling.
To work on E3D & Auto Cad software for various type of hydro power plant networks routing (piping/HVAC ducting/ Cable tray) modelling.
Generate clash check report from PDMS & resolve if any interference found.
Generate General arrangement drawings for equipment layout, Civil work layout, piping layout & erection drawing in PDMS draft module.
To review customer civil structural design drawings, civil construction drawings.
To review various vendor equipment drawings for layout interfaces & requirements.
Generate piping isometric drawings from PDMS Isodraft module.
Prepare piping bill of material for various piping systems, cable trays, pipe/cable tray supports & release in PLM tool.
Should interact with other department for various inputs/interface requirement & keep the record.
Interaction with customer for various discussion/meeting
Good communication skill in English with written & verbal.
Should involve in process improvement & project cost cutting activities.

Educational Requirements

B.E. Mechanical engineer having minimum 3 to 6-year experience.

Should be communicate and understand English language

Knowledge / Experience

He/she should have minimum 3 to 6 years’ experience on below activity.

should have good knowledge of cad software, like E3D, Auto Cad, MS office, etc.
He/she should have good knowledge about hydro power plant layout, equipment arrangement/layout & should be good knowledge about plant network layout (Piping/HVAC Ducting & Cable tray).
Should have good knowledge about pipe support engineering.

Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies

Should be good team member, sincere & co-operative.
Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously.
Should follow the company integrity program.
should have knowledge about various STD codes of piping & piping materials, ducting, cable tray etc
should have good knowledge about EHS/safety rules which shall be considered during layout engineering.
should have good knowledge of equipment Loads/foundation civil requirements, equipment handling requirement.
If he/she had Basic knowledge of civil structural design (beam/column/slab/steel structure) which will be an added advantage.
