Engineer –Axles and Steering
SAS (Steering, Axles hubs/disk brakes & Suspensions) Technology, GTT Bangalore

The SAS Technology Bangalore group is responsible for the development, part of Non Driven Axles , steering pumps be it Fixed or variable VDP/eVDP as well as part of the future electrification and redundant steering systems for automation. The responsibility includes all truck brands within the Volvo Group so we work towards all GTT sites worldwide.

You will be a part of an agile team responsible for development, specification, documentation and verification of the steering systems. You will also develop requirements, concepts and system solutions within the Steering & Pumps area.
 

Job Description
In the area of SAS, we are now looking for an Engineer – Axles & Steering System (SAS), into our Product development team, to reinforce the Global SAS Technology Team Deliveries to across the Sites.
The main responsibilities are:

  • Design and devlopment of Axles & Steering systems components and installation, Contribute to the Workload in the SAS Area.
  • To work with cross functional teams and with a global network of people within Product Development, Purchasing, Global Manufacturing and Aftermarket. 
  • To execute Projects with QDCF (Quality, Delivery, project and product Cost, Feature).
  • Engineering documentation of drawings and specifications.
  • Drive and establish a good Collaborative working with Global Sites.

Qualifications and Key Attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/automobile Engineering, With Overall experience 4-6 years in the automobile industry.
  • Have a capacity to work individually as well with small team to secure the deliverables.
  • Good exposure of Product Development Life Cycle End to End, Truck and its application Overview.
  • Taking Initiatives and contribute towards improving the way of working within group or Dept. levels. & bring value mindset.
  • Good networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication. 
  • Proven experience of working with Pro-E, Volvo Tools Knowledge like PDM, KOLA as well as Agile WoW will be added advantage.
  • Hands on Experience of working within SAS area, may be preferred.
  • Creative Mindset, Agile, Self-driven, High Energy and Goal oriented are the Key Attributes.
